In Brazil, when it comes to the matter of construction materials, many of those are produced internally. For example, Grupo Votorantin is a big Brazilian group that produces both cement and steel, and there are lots of other industries in the country that also do so, as well as ceramics and glass manufacturers. Therefore, due to lots of internal taxes, materials that are produced internally become more expensive and, consequently are not so competitive in the market. Considering that, imported materials from countries such as China become more present in Brazilian constructions. Some examples of products that this country provides are doors, floor tiles, toilet bowls and even steel. In this picture, it is possible to see a toilet bowl that was produced in the asian country. In conclusion, it can be seen that in Brazil, although there is a strong industry that suppers the construction sector with material, there is still a sign of globalization in all constructions.
