I live in a city called Neiva, located in the south of Colombia, 400 meters above sea level and that due to its location near the equator and its low altitude, the city has a warm climate with average annual temperatures during the day ranging from 21 to 35 degree celsius. The temperature variable is always related to precipitation, so that the hottest months are those with the least rainfall, especially August and September, in which the maximum temperature exceeds 38 ° C in urban areas and the Coolest months are those considered to be the rainiest months, with April, November and December standing out, the maximum temperature oscillating between 28º C and 30º C. Undoubtedly, the urban area is getting hotter every day and contributes to the effect of (UHI). The permanent and accelerated loss of deforestation for the development of roads and buildings are the most determining causes for increasing temperatures in the city. Also the increase in vehicles and especially motorcycles makes the city sometimes unlivable. The opposite happens in the rural area, much greener, a more pleasant temperature, purer air and less noise, make the rural area an attraction for city dwellers to seek refuge there.
