The image I chose is of the Subway system in Stockholm Sweden. I chose this image because a lot of our infrastructure is very utilitarian. we build it into our cities in a way that is either as discrete and hidden as possible, or just ignore the aesthetics altogether because it is there out of necessity. Stockholm, however, is dressing up and celebrating the importance of their transportation infrastructure with beautifully designed subway stations. It doesn't feel like its just there to do its job of moving people, but instead is there as a place to be and can be its own attraction.
