FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"

This is a picture of the road that I live on in a suburb in Australia. The pieces of information that are visible in the attached photo include: The roads, houses, cars, trees. Some other elements of the visible information available in this photo are the telecommunications and sewerage systems. Whilst they are not able to be seen in the photo, they exist as data or information in city blueprints and maps. Example one of invisible information could be the social media information related to the suburb. This can include other unstructured data about key elements of urban planning such as issues/complaints RE: public transport or roads. This could be combined with transport data to improve the systems. Another example of invisible information would be the the travel patterns of residents from these areas. This could be used to (re)design the area so that there are more amenities in the location and thus impact on traffic of the residents travelling to other urban centres.
