1. Oil and biofuel and waste form the bigger chunk in the consumption pattern in India followed closely by coal. 2. a. Oil finds its major use in transport. b. Biofuels are most used for residential energy needs , e.g. cooking. c. Coal finds its use in large scale industries which form a major base for the economy. 3. India is a county blessed with bountiful natural resources. To counter this we also have the challenge of large population. • Shifting our focus on renewable energy will help combat the large use of oil in transport, this could be the first step. Electric vehicles will take us a long way to reduce emissions and control pollution. • Striving to find maximum use of solar will benefit the country in many ways. Given ample sunlight throughout the year, efficient ways of using solar energy for electricity needs/cooking/heating etc can prove profitable. • Hydro and wind power are still in their prime in India, Investing and finding potential in these areas can help cater electricity production demands as well.
