FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2020-05-06 by Amir Garibovic
Since there are no designated fields in this form, I'll write my describtion here. 1. The photo was taken at Limmatplatz, Zurich in Switzerland by Amir Garibovic 2. The visible information: A rectangular structure with metallic texture and blue- and yellow-ish patterns is located in front of what seems to be a tree, illuminated by the sunlight. The tree is partially surrounded by a structure at branch-height. Behind the focus zone is a street, three or possibly more individuals, windows, facades and a patio. 3. The "invisible information": The rectangular structure is an enclosed recycling station in front of a tree that's illuminated by the afternoon sunlight. The information can be deduced from GPS data based on location and direction of sunlight on the observed objects. The concrete roofing can be recognised based on color, texture and location. 4. The knowledge taken from this information can help us understand that urban planners, designers and the recycling teams haven't discussed and coordinated the intervention and that public space needs more collaborative projects.
