1. Coal (domestic production + imported), oil and natural gas (imported). 2. Coal is mainly used as fuel in thermal power plants and also for domestic heating purposes. Oil is mainly used for transportation. Natural gas is used for heating of the buildings and energy generation. 3. I’d suggest switching to renewable energy sources. The initiates have already been stated. Onshore and offshore wind farms, solar PV plants, geothermal power may replace the fossil fuels in the mid-run. Additionally, the newly constructed buildings should be planned to require minimal heating and cooling. Traditional architectural techniques and principles should be revived to make use of natural heating and cooling. Electric mass transit vehicles should replace the fossil fuel vehicles and private cars. And better town planning is a must to correctly locate / relocate the districts by considering climatic conditions, transportation needs and urban heat islands.
