Panama Canal protected natural areas, related to water conservation. Over 100 years, the Panama Canal has been one of the most important infrastructure for global trading. More than 13,000 ships cross the canal each year, about 35 ships per day. This ships, with different goods inside (gas,oil, food, cars, etc) is a 24 hour activity, 365 days/year that generates over 2,500 MM $ to Panama, and also create lots of economical impacts, upstream and downstream. In each transit, more than 22 MM gal of water are used, so water is the most important resource for the Panama Canal, and it is also an important flow. There are many people from more than 160 countries, where ships come from, who pass the Canal. Water reservoirs are essential stocks for the Canal, and also the natural protected areas related to water conservation.
