Yes, really our society have been dependent on various infrastructures. In Kathmandu, the solar lights inserted in the roads have helped a lot. Hydroelectricity is one of the main sources in Kathmandu household. Our social activity like going through social media, watching television, thermal and cooling purposes and now increasing rate of electric vehicles have made our lives dependent of electricity. People have started using electric appliances more than ever. You can see electric cables everywhere around and see transmission towers frequently here.Mitigation of power-cut has been considered very well in Kathmandu.Also the festivals like Tihar and Chatt which are also known as "festival of lights" have made electricity of huge importance.On the other hand, the various social values and norms in Nepal have given high priority on lighting. Hence, due to high demand, government of Nepal have given high priority on Hydropower development. Moreover, the culture of adapting modern architecture in construction have increase demand of electricity. Governmental transportation are importing electric buses and government is increasing charging stations within valley. So, Kathmandu is highly dependent on electricity and the demand is increasing rapidly.
