Uploaded on 2020-05-01 by Kashish
This photograph is of the old city of Ahmedabad. As visible in the picture, they buildings appear to be very old. They buildings are opening up on the north side. The buildings seems to have mixed use functions. The overall urban fabric seems to be very dense. There are many vehicles parked and most of them are two wheelers. Many buildings have wood as the main material of construction. There are a lot external units of air conditioning systems. The dense urban character tells that there are huge number of people dependant on these buildings. These can be the people living here as well as people coming here for commercial activities. There will be a lot of noice and air pollution. The majoirity of two wheelers and the oldness of the urban area suggest that the roads connecting to this area seems to be narrow and not suitable for big vehicles. The knowledge that can be derived from this information is that this place holds some social and economic or even historic importance thats why even with the unsuitable living conditions people are living and travelling to this area.
