The dependency on electricity and electrical transmission lines are highly evident around Kuwait on a territorial scale. Around almost every neighborhood a plot of land is designated for those power lines. Unfortunately those areas tend to be close to homes where health risks become higher. With Kuwait’s sun exposure, a switch from electricity to solar panels is a key factor towards a sustainable city. This will aid in creating a healthier and cleaner state. Though it may be costly at first, this implementation will be energy efficient and cost efficient. Solar energy can contribute in charging the streetlights that today consume a large amount of electrical energy. In addition, the heavy dependency of cars as the main method of transportation is an issue that Kuwait City has faced ever since it was developed. The shift towards introducing alternative transportation methods has been a challenge. The mindset of the citizens is focused on independency from public methods of transportation which increases the traffic as well as pollution.
