5 Cities: 1.Zürich 2.Copenhagen 3.Vienna 4.Singapore 5.Japan 5 Characteristics: 1.Social Environment 2.Housing 3.Climate 4.Healthcare 5.Infrastructure In reference to the characteristics listed above, Kuwait is a livable city for its citizens but not so much for foreigners. Though diversity exists, the social environment is divided where interaction with different ethnicities is mainly for work purposes. This is something that can easily be changed if Kuwait takes a step towards finding touristic opportunities. Seeing as more than half of it’s land is unbuilt, protecting oil reservoirs, Kuwait struggles to house its citizens as well as the expats living. Fortunately, this issue is slowly resolving where new land developments have taken place. The desert-climate in Kuwait makes it difficult to pursue outdoor activities throughout most of the year; however, integrating cooling methods through design, and possibly testing different simulations, could lead to new outdoor opportunities. The healthcare system in Kuwait is one of the best, it is free for all citizens and not too expensive for foreigners. This system has proven its excellency today with how it has been handling the Covid-19 situation. Finally, the infrastructure in Kuwait should shift towards more sustainable and energy efficient methods, mainly solar energy.
