In this picture you can see the distributer road in front of my living room. This road runs through different neighborhoods and connects them. It is also an access road to the Maastunnel, which makes it an important infrastructural connection between North and South Rotterdam. On top of that it is an important route for ambulances, since the Dijkzigt hospital is situated at the other end of the Maastunnel. What you can't see in this picture is the buried infrastructure beneath the aspalt and walkway. Infrastructure for waste water, rainwater, drinkwater, electricity, gas and data are buried between 1 to 2 meters under the hard surfaces of the road.
