The image is taken in Quezon City, Philippines, specifically along Don Alejandro Roces Avenue. Visible Information from the image include: Too much planting on center island. Trees and plantings are ideal, but in this case, it is too high and shaggy that it visually blocks the other side of the road, in addition that it is also on an elevated planter. Poor road condition. Roads are uneven Unruly power lines. Power utility lines are unorganized and are visually distracting. Few building/establishment signages. Presence of just a few building establishment markers. Absence of pedestrian crossing. The long, elevated planting strip prevents pedestrians from crossing the street. Invisible Information that can be derived from these are: The area is not suitable for high-speed traffic.(from1) Although pedestrians are prevented from crossing the street by the elevated planting strip, the plantings are too high and too shaggy that they limit visibility on the other side of the road, especially for motorists. Intersections can be a little hazardous and should be approached with extra caution, even for pedestrians. Low level of pedestrian activity.(from4) Gauging from the presence of only a few building signages, one can deduce that the area is not very lively in terms of pedestrian traffic. The ground level streetscape isn't very engaging to pedestrians as the establishments are only very few and in between. The area is likely to be void of pedestrian activity. From number 4: Designing an engaging streetscape is one of the ways one can make a liveable urban area. If a street is lined with establishments that are clearly marked, pedestrians will be encouraged not only to walk its length, but to absorb the context and engage with the area. At the same time, streetscapes with establishments lined along it are much safer especially at night, as the people crowding it function as 'community security', discouraging criminal attempts as they can be easily visible to a lot of people.
