Location- Redwood shores, near San Francisco, United States The image is depicting an office building. Some points to be considered- • The architectural design is quite interesting with two blocks as the core centers, connecting through sky-walk having common spaces in between. • The structural design well resonates with the architectural elements. • With the steel and glass as the main building materials and components, the structure is well reflecting its originality. The steel grids and I beams, in combination with tinted glass was introduced in many of America's construction history. • The tall steel, iron, glass skyscrapers from Chicago and New York created a standardized building techniques and skeleton frame construction to the world. • The above building forms a frame with the steel, iron girders and I beams with a glass and metal cladding for facades; which is quite typical of USA construction methods in most of the metro cities. • Also, the lattice work acts as structural and an architectural element. Globalised economy has elevated the design concepts, material experimentation in the construction field. On the other hand, local materials should be more explored for their full potential usage and flexibility for design concepts.
