Photo is taken by me in april2019.This place is Malatya City Museum.This building is one of the oldest building in the city.İt had been used in diffrent fonctions over the past years,and then they decided to restorate and convert to a city museum. The main construction material is stone and wood, wich are local building materials.But when they decided to convert the buiding it had been using as a pubic service building and the apperiance of the buiding was like a concrete building.Because, in the near past some people used cement based plasters and other buiding materials to make building look newer. While restoration process they removed this added parts to reach the original form of bulding. But the suprising one was they find some adobe bricks with wooden molds in separatig walls.Actually there was some loadbearing walls made from stone,and separating walls with adobe bricks and woods. In my region especially in the past the main building materials were adobe bricks and woods.The most abundant material is soil, people used to made their own bricks and homes.But commercial buildings like this building made from stone which is more scarce,because they are important so it had to be more durable.
