Most livable cities: 1-Vancouver 2- Copenhagen 3- Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 4-San Sebastian 5-London Five characteristics that make a city more livable: 1- Relative equality (decent wages and a good ratio between them and the cost of living) 2- Boost and protect healthcare, education and culture. 3- Moderate climate 4- Decent alternative transport to cars (bicycles and properly organised and optimised public transport) 5- Reduced pollution and acoustic contamination 6 (extra): lying by the sea My city has a prosperous healthcare system, but education and culture should be potentiated in order to reach lower classes. Wages should increase, living costs are increasing and so should social and work conditions. Climate was ranked best climate in the world and best air quality inside a city few times over recent history. Alternative transport is starting to be considered an option, this decade that starts will be a turning point I reckon, optimisation of public transport needs to be optimised though. Pollution and acoustic contamination has increased over the last decades significantly, due to our car dependancy, we need to improve that aspect.
