2. I live in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has s high density urban context. Most of the buildings in Hong kong are high rise and are standing very close to one another. Some harbour front residential projects are huge and the buildings are wind-blocking. This reduce the wind penetration. 3. There should be stricter regulation in restricting the construction of wind-blocking buildings. By achieving this, increase the area of public open space can also widened the gaps between buildings. Also, by bring people to streets, in long term the public awareness of the experience and comfort of being on street will be raised accordingly. 4. The government policies on reducing the effect of UHI effect include allocation of sufficient roadside planting, blue-green elements in infrastructures, and greenery at pedestrian level.
