As we can see in the picture, the typology of my city, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is based in low buildings, with relatively narrow opens to the street. We have a tropical weather, and very exposed and hard surfaces, luckily we are under the influence of the alisios winds, blowing strongly during the summer, and regulating the heat on the canopy island . The days when the sun is hard and the wind doensn´t blow temperatures are really high and being on the street is not a pleasurable situation. The consumption of energy from air condition increase. <Anyway this is one of our last worries. For multiple ocassions, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been chosen as the city with the best weather in the world. I would just add some shadow from trees on the streets to improve the mobility by bike, since it can be really hot when you are cycling under the sun.
