There was a reconstruction in ghetto neighbourhood in my area. Modernist blocks from the 60-70s. There is a big space between the buildings and because of refurbishment, there is now wide variety of weird objects between the block. Huge planters, houses for birds, playgrounds. Some of them look more as a weird sculpture than anything useful. I suspect architect/planner wanted to give each bock some identity, however I doubt that dwellers were given any voice, because I dont see a possibility of them wanting oversized concrete planters and weird forest of birdhouses. I would suggest inviting them instead to the drafting table.
