a. Provisioning - Groundwater extraction. Fresh and clean water in Aarhus area can be found under the ground. There are about 100 wells which cover more than 90 per cent of the city demand. b. Regulating services - Waste water treatment - At traditional wastewater treatment plants, the energy produced is nowhere near enough to cover the operation of the plant. In Aarhus it is. Marselisborg WWTP has an energy self-sufficient far above 100 percent and the plant is in fact a power station, a bio refinery where energy is produced from wastewater. c. Habitat or Supporting services - South of the Aarhus city, in the Thors woods which are part of the larger Marselisborg-Moesgaard forest, lies the Deer Park. The area houses a wonderful population of sika and fallow deer which you can get really close-up to. The wild boars live in their own enclosure. d. Cultural services - The Botanical Garden is a green oasis just to the west of Den Gamle By "The Old Town Museum" the Urban Museum in the centre of Aarhus. It is open to the public all the year round and is well worth a visit in all seasons of the year.
