Main UHI in Aarhus, Denmark: Dense built environment in the city. Surfaces that absorb heat. However, Aarhus is in colder part of temperate climate and therefore heat island effect is in fact rather beneficial. We are using energy for heating more than cooling. Therefore it is not neeeded to reduce that effect.
