FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2020-03-26 by James Collister
This is a leisure area near me in London that consists of a cinema and some chain restaurants alongside too much car parking, located near a high street. The invisible pieces of information consist of the following: 1. Footfall and dwell time from data based upon people's smartphone usage, such as wifi. 2. Traffic flows could be measured using sensors Choosing footfall data and dwell time we can sense how people react the the urban environment, which sections of the area they enjoy to dwell in whether this be the car park, the front of the cinema, or perhaps some of the green space on the site. We can also monitor footfall data to see how people access the leisure site to understand wha aspects of the local connections are working to the surrounding areas and which connections need improving.
