This photo was taken during summer holliday in Lille, which explain the sunny weather and the relax atmosphere. Information visible on this photo: On floor level all building are occupied by stores, in the background we can guess a square and further an historical building, so we are in the city center. Few cars on the road but all parking space are taken. There are groups of pedestrians walking the sidewalk. Invisible information: - We could collect the gps data from the phone citizen to understand their travel, where do they come from and their shopping habits by mapping their movement with shops. - The data from the parking meters can be use to understand where the car come from, how long do they stay in the city center. We could also correlate it with the previous point. Knowledge: Understand the car traffic, its origin and destination allow to design a more efficient public transit system therefore reducing the number of cars with the goal to eliminate car parked in the city center. This would give back space for urban green spaces, more pedestrian security and space.
