FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2020-03-22 by Najah binti Md Alwi
This photo was taken in front of the Tabung Haji Building not too far away from Suria KLCC and Petronas Twin Towers. This photo shows a typical Friday afternoon scene where the sidewalks and drop off area (in the front entrance of the bulidng) is a very busy street lined up with street hawkers and food vendors awaiting to for their customers. This photo also shows the foot traffic (or lack off) on the sidewalks as the climate here in Kuala Lumpur at noon can be very very high. Both of this "invisible" information shares the city's character and tells the story of the city and its people function. Part of the common scenery that may differ from day to day are the street activities. Lunch hours in the city centre are about an hour and usually, citizens who work in the city will venture out to get their lunch, thus giving opportunities for the street food business owners. Fridays, for, example are when Muslim men are called for a congregational prayer at noon. Most offices will have an extended lunch hour from 12.30pm to 2.30pm to allow for this.
