Vacant land. In town and in the county west of the city, there is an abundance of vacant land. Existing land and land available due to buildings being razed. I believe this will change with Foxconn building multi-million square foot facilities in western Racine County. People and businesses will be purchasing land to build housing and businesses. In 5 to 10 years, the entire area will change. Historic buildings and houses Racine dates back to the civil war. The history of will forever remain static. No one will ever let it change. Flows Decreasing population. Because there is no reason to stay in Racine, people are moving out. Housing prices are going up, taxes are going up and businesses are moving. Once Foxconn moves into the area, Racine will be forced to build more affordable houses, open businesses, restaurants and attractions. Businesses downtown. Businesses in the historic downtown area change like the wind. As soon as one opens another one closes. Residents have to go to other nearby towns to find shopping, restaurants, activities and entertainment. With Foxconn moving here and all the ancillary businesses, I believe that the downtown area will become more stable and maintain its structure.
