Hello, Rob here! 1. Top Livability Criteria: 1. Housing 2. Job opportunities 3. Recreational opportunities 4. Environment 5. Culture 2. I live in Columbus, GA purely because of my significant other's job. 3. I rate Columbus, GA a 40 on the livability scale that's based off of my personal livability ranking. The general livability ranking may be closer to 60 if you account for the environment factor (a decent amount of green spaces, parks, and a river). 4. The main thing that I would aim to change about Columbus is the lack of job opportunities. Outside of the largest employer here (the U.S Army), and a few other tech companies, the job market is extremely tough. For the residents of Columbus or transplants that move here for their spouse's job, there are little to no opportunities unless you're highly experienced in IT, accounting, or the medical field. Part of this problem is because Columbus is so isolated from other large cities. Columbus is the largest city within around 100+ miles, so everyone flocks to the city for a job. A commuter rail service from Columbus to Atlanta would alleviate some issues. 5. See discussion; ran out of space here
