Railway tracks for local commuter & long distance & shipping. Also local roads. Large data is collected in each of these transportation methods in various ways. A ticket for the commuter rail tells us when the travellers are using the system. The cell phones of the passengers takes in how long the trip is , where the people go on and off, what method of before or after the initial train information is also recorded. If another transportation method is used afterwards and for how long. How long the person stays in that area before returning or moving on to the next destination. Cell phones are linked to people so who they are, where they live, perhaps where they work, where they visit, what methods. These methods alone can aid the traveller in determine the best route to take, and when. The refined date helps the planner determine where transportation services are needed and when. other data collection supports the first mentioned methods and help cities make long-term transportation plans.
