The buildings’ site, known as Adwa park condominium site, is located in the former Imperial Hotel area, Gerji, Addis Ababa. The condo houses, of 5 storeys, are built by government of Ethiopia in order to fill the gap of housing, especially for the low income group. It is very good example to exercise the stocks and flows. 1) The housing buildings were built from the state’s financial resources. It is basically aimed to fill the shortage of housing that implies to develop the housing stock. In this regard, since the sate is collecting partial cost of these buildings will take at least thirty years. The occupants, most of them categorized as low income group, reserved the housing just in a simple draw. Therefore, from the intended purpose of the development of these condos and the classification of the residents, it can be considered as a STOCK of houses. 2) However following the day to day demands of the residents, groceries, small catering services and wet laundry facilities started businesses in the ground floors of the condo buildings.
