In Malaysia based on the IEA Sankey diagram (2017) Transportation is the dominant consumption for fossil fuels in Malaysia. This is no surprise as Malaysia's in the oil and gas business and prices of these are subsidised for the locals to utilise. This is not only making it worse for the environment but also dismantling and diminishing avenues for other renewable sources like solar or wind because it's "cheaper to just drive". To improve the environmental impact and maximise the consumption of energy sustainable, I would create several new policy which starts small and easy enough steps to do, I would create several new policy which starts small and easy enough steps to do, and then also follow up with top to bottom stakeholders role in it. For example, moving to solar power is a MUST. This followed by alternative powers such as oil and gas to be taxed and not subsidised. Car-free days every week (preferably week day and weekend, use public transport or emission free travel), to promote walking and car-less civic mind. Promoting electric cars/moped as alternative.
