FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2020-01-25 by Sofia Ivars
I have taken this photo in the "Plaza Godoy Cruz" where I can highlight some elements of visible information such as vehicles, traffic, security cameras and inhabitants. The invisible information observed is that the inhabitants carry a Smartphone which carries their geo location on which can be analyzed in conjunction with the collection of several devices and understand how the inhabitants move, how much time they have in each place and Which sites are more frequented. Another example is security cameras that can provide very valuable information about traffic or area security for example. This could contribute to city planning by being a data collector to help make decisions and design functional public policies. Through the camera element, a biometric recognition system could be implemented which, by means of a database synchronized with that of the province's police, can alert on the presence of highly dangerous individuals or with capture requests, thus helping to reduce the amount of police checks that are carried out in the city which cause traffic jams, traffic and the mobilization of police forces. This would help to combat one of the problems that most affects the province and the country in general, insecurity.
