This topic is very relevant in almost every city in the world. There all always neighborhoods where people feel less safe than in other neighborhoods. This can be due to social-economic situations, but this also has to do with the physical environment. Safety can be observed by citizens for example by reporting anti-social behaviour like trash, vandalism, alcoholism, racism and graffiti. I imagine that there could be an application on smartphones with a map and GPS where people could mark these places of anti-social behaviour. Additionally, inhabitants can give urban areas a rating from 1-5 how safe they feel.
