a. Provisioning services: Rice paddies, palm plantations, and the river in the vicinity of the city provide food, forests provide wood, dams provide drinking water. b. Regulating services: Mostly dam and canals providing flood protection (as well as supplying water during the dry season). c. Habitat or Supporting services: National parks surrounding the city are habitats for hundreds of species, including elephants, birds, reptiles. The Ping river is a habitat for fish and prawns. d. Cultural services: The river and some of the national parks are an important magnet for tourists, while the city moat, parks, and the nearby artificial lake are favourite places for recreation for the local population.
