This pictue is taken on the main shopping street in Reykjavik city called Laugavegur. This day the street was closed for car traffic, partly because people where celebrating the success of our national footbal team. You can see that people are wearing scarves with the national colours. The closing of the main street has been controversial and have some shop owners protested this while the majority of the residents are in favour of closing the streets for car traffic. My feeling this day is that the lack of car traffic created a more friendly and energetic environment for the people celebrating. It had somewhat a special feeling towards it.
