Uploaded on 2019-11-27 by Luke van Wyk
This photo was taken on Main Road, Sea Point in Cape Town, South Africa. The photo shows various information that is visible in the photo. The photo shows the type of road, a signalised intersection. The density of the buildings is shown. The informal minibus taxi transport is shown. The informal traders are shown on the left as well as the streetlighting shown by the streetlights in the distance. Two invisible information could be firstly the land use zoning of the area which would be commercial shown in the picture by the traders on the pavement as well as the branding of shops on the side of the building. The second information could be transit routes or stops shown by where the minibus is stopping, illegally. It can also be seen that passengers are alighting the minibus. The information shown by where the minibus is stopping needs attention by planners. To make the space more liveable a dedicated legal stopping area is needed to ensure more a more liveable space where passengers can alight safely and without making the intersection dangerous. It would make the crossing safer as well as the signalised intersection safer.
