(a)Provisioning services: Bogor's outskirts play an important role in growing food, research of food technology and medicinal resources. (b)Regulating Services: the Bogor Botanic Gardens is an ex situ conservation area located in the centre of the city, covering an area of 75.4 hectares. It is one of the most vegetated areas of the city, which helps remove pollutants from the atmosphere. The gardens also contributed in the acclimatisation for growing oil palm, before distributed throughout Southeast Asia and Asia. (c)Habitat or supporting services: Bogor Botanic Gardens is a research centre with an effort to support the utilisation of plant resources and its sustainability. The gardens conserve species of plants that are rare, endemic, and of scientific value. Flora, fauna and heritage trees are all classified which includes over 12,350 specimens in 213 families. This supports a rich natural habitat for various animals such as birds, bats, monitor lizards, snakes, insects, mammals, etc. (d) Cultural services: Bogor Botanic Gardens is open to the public daily for a small fee. It also serves as a space for recreation and education of cultural background and historical buildings. Further, there is also agrotourism that can be found on the outskirts of Bogor.
