1. Top-5 criteria that I think contribute the most to a city’s liveability are: 1)Environment; 2)Climate; 3)Infrastructure; 4)Healthcare; 5) Safety. 2. 5 main reasons (in order of preference) why I live in Jakarta are: 1)Climate; 2)Culture (diverse community and culinary offerings); 3)Recreation Possibilities (range of leisure activities); 4)Housing (affordable); and 5)Job Opportunities (more opportunities compared to surrounding cities). 3. Jakarta fulfils my top-5 ideal criteria, as follows: 1)Environment=55/100, the city struggles with rubbish and pollution problems, there is a shortage of piped(clean) water causing excessive groundwater extraction and land subsidence. 2)Climate=80/100, (tropical and warm year-round). 3)Infrastructure=60/100, infrastructure still inadequate and inefficient, making the city especially vulnerable to natural-hazards. 4)Healthcare=65/100, Jakarta is at the centre of quality private and public health facilities in Indonesia, however is still not yet up to par to meet demands. 5)Safety=55/100 (moderate level). Overall liveability score for Jakarta 63/100. 4. The first measure to improve liveability is to establish better transport infrastructure and pedestrian facilities to encourage less motor vehicle usage, reduce congestion and air pollution. 5. If I decided to change my place of residence I would select: London,UK; Melbourne, AU; or Amsterdam,NL. This is based on 1)culture; 2)infrastructure; 3)environment; 4)job opportunities; and 5)safety.
