More or less, every new building contains elements of a globalized economy, but what about a completely new city? The aspern Seestadt, Vienna is a new build city from scratch and represented an example of a future urban development. A place to study and innovate with a much larger flexibility that in an historical city. Even though the city itself is an interesting Smart City initiative, it is also a perfect example of a globalized economy. Every building in this city contains elements, materials and manpower from all aroud the world. For this week task, the material that i have identified as a particular material, that points out the globalization concept, is an abstract one: the Spirit of Place (Genius Loci). The personality of the place is misssing and that could be another aspect of a sustainable future city.
