Speed bumps and accessible parking spots are examples of Union City’s Citizen Design Science (CDS). If I were to initiate a Citizen Design Science project, I would cater to families, teenagers, new immigrants to tackle specific concerns and solutions. I mentioned different categories of people because I would use different approaches to attain their attention. For families, I would speak with the schools to promote a public meeting announcing a new project for CDS located at the high school. Teenagers will learn about the site during school. In addition to promoting the meeting in schools, there will be flyers sent to all citizen homes to connect with the single household individuals that include immigrants. The flyers and session will provide contact information for any questions. Moreover, after the meeting, another flyer will be given for upcoming meetings, workshops, and open seminars. The meeting will teach citizens how to effectively use the website and app in regards to public contribution to urban design and other concerns. Topics will include public safety, public health, waste reduction, climate change, and sustainable development. The website will be simple to use and will consist of the city’s projects, and a posting and chatting system.
