This photo is taken in Sector 20, Panchkula - a satellite city of Chandigarh, India. The stocks and flows entering this area are as follows: STOCKS - RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, LANDSCAPE AREAS, OTHER PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE LIKE ELECTRICITY SUBSTATION, SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT, SCHOOLS, HEALTH CENTERS, etc. FLOWS - PEOPLE, FOOD and CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS. The area being mentioned is a high density residential area that has primarily developed to accommodate the large no. of people migrating to Chandigarh for newer job opportunities (IT SECTOR) and better standard of living. Also the development of the stock of housing in the form of these gated communities and other social and physical infrastructure (stocks) to cater to people's needs has prompted further inflow of people, food and construction materials for the construction of new residential enclaves. The stocks and flows have definitely brought about a whole lot of developmental activities in the area. A grain market, no. of cold storages, flower market etc. catering to the district are coming up in the area. They will surely generate revenue for the state, benefit the local people (urban as well as rural), create more employment opportunities and help in filling up the stock of residences coming up in the near future.
