Lebanon’s main used fossil fuel is, and by far comparison, the oil according to the Sankey Diagram 2016, where its used predominantly for transport in roads and secondary for residential use. Lebanon has a lot of potential in becoming a self-sufficient sustainable resilient country; with its abundance of water, wind and around 3000 hours of sunshine per year, the country can produce more energy than it would consume, if implementing these green energies like hydropower and wind turbines as well as photovoltaics. Therefore the dependence on oil fossil fuel import will cease existing in a way to reduce significantly this dangerous CO2 gas emissions in the country. These measures if taken seriously by a responsible governance, will certainly lead to the shift from using oil in public and private transportation to the use of green electric public transportation and electric cars instead provided directly from those green energy supplies mentioned above.
