Ans1: According to IEA Sankey, in Pakistan, Oil both produced and imported minus exported oil and oil for international bunkers (27.57 Mtoe) and natural gas (25.05 Mtoe) are the most dominant fossil fuel used. Ans2. Oil mainly in transport (14.29 Mtoe) and natural gas in mainly in residential use (5.74 Mtoe) followed by industries (4.88 Mtoe) Ans3. I'd create a policy to set up solar panels in all new residential developments, highrise buildings, and shopping malls. I'd add rewards (e.g., 5% discount in fee/tax) for builders who implement solar power system. I'd further promote public transport and discourage the use of single riders private cars. Use of biofuel and electricity will be encouraged over the use of oil/gas generators. To reduce the effects of fossil fuel, it’ll be compulsory to add vegetation on roof tops. I'd also mandate the development of at least 2 urban forests in each of the 9 towns of my city, Lahore. All new housing developments would be given targets e.g, 5 trees/acre and pedestrianized streets or else they won’t be approved.
