Food is a kind of important flow and stock for Hong Kong. As we know that Hong Kong, with a small amount of land, hardly produces food. To feed its large population, it has to import food from all over the world. However, a special phenomenon can be seen in Hong Kong is that people are really fond of growing food themselves. This image was taken in an urban farm in Choi Hung, where residents nearby can rent a land to grow vegetables as they like. They will come and take care of the plants regularly and bring them back to home after harvest. Also, rooftop farm is very popular in Hong Kong. Many people in Hong Kong believe that the food grown by themselves is much healthier. There are also some companies trying to bring food production back to the city in larger scale through high technologies. Maybe one day, food will transform from flows to stocks as a part of the city system.
