Many cities in India are fast developing when compared to the previous decade. The main construction material in the industry or the entire country is steel reinforced concrete. Highly dependent and huge demand for steel, and concrete, and wood for internal works. Thus, steel and concrete has no effect on global consumption on building materials. Wood being a local product, there is no point of importing large quantities. Technological improvements and investing in them will take huge amount of time for city governments to consider to trade in local markets or small construction process, usually the big private companies have an added advantage to consider these aspects and are able to effectively make use of the resources. Construction in the Indian cities are carried out without considering the sustainability, and improper planning, except large infrastructure projects. There is a slight possibility to consider certain procedures to improve the conditions of planning and construction to increase sustainability in the cities, but how effective will they result in the present times is highly uncertain, due to many policies and objections.
