FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2019-08-21 by Karthik Reddy Awala
The image presents invisible information from visible characteristics such as absence of urban design standards. The cars parked along the road could be towed away any time, but there are no spaces for secure parking. No parking ticketing system available. Pedestrians do not have equal access on all sides of the street, and the existing ones are improperly maintained. Invisible information can contribute for better urban planning and make liveable for everyone. Considering the parking spaces, we find it unsafe to park along the road side, no markings, unpredictable about being towed away as there are no enough spaces in the city which offer private parkings. Absence of urban design standards and set of traffic rules which make driving a very unsafe to the drivers, owners and to the pedestrians, where some of the cars occupy the walkaways due to absence of parking spaces along the road. The commercial spaces or buildings provide limited parking for visitors and members, thus it makes commute even harder in the cities.
