My top 5 livable cities are: 1. Melbourne 2. Copenhagen 3. Singapore 4. Stockholm 5. Tokyo I think the five characteristics that describes the livability of a city are healthcare, education, safety and stability, environmentally friendly and infrastructure. In my city Dubai, all of the characteristics check except for environmentally friendly. United Arab Emirates is rich in oil, therefore petrol for vehicles is relatively cheaper in Dubai than most big cities world wide. Plus owning a private vehicle in Dubai is also cheap as income of individuals is high and cars have comparably low to no taxes on them. Therefore, there are a lot of CO2 emissions in the city. However with Tesla car manufacturer now being introduced and starting to get kind of popular to the people who can afford it. Still electric cars is on the coming to be cheaper and more accessible and could help decrease CO2 emissions in the city. Also recycling bins are not around the city as much as the neighboring city, Sharjah. In addition to that Dubai is a new city which is still being built, so concrete is being manufactured in bulk emitting huge amounts of CO2.
