All the buildings in Sharjah and in general, all of United Arab Emirates use reinforced concrete in their buildings and huge concrete piles deep into the ground because most construction happening in the country is high rise buildings (15+ floors). UAE cannot use natural alternative resources as the weather is the main concern. No plants are grown in UAE besides palm trees because of the hot weather mostly throughout the year. Steel is not produced in UAE in large quantities, but as of lately manufacturers and factories are being introduced and funded in the country to start producing steel on their own rather than importing it. UAE is a combination of desert and mountainous region (other than the coastline which is a flat surface). So there is plenty of sand and stones (raw earth material) that produce concrete and cement on for its economy. However most of these production materials are widely used in the country as of the heavy construction going on in the country that not much is being exported out for globalized economy. UAE is rich in oil therefore as of now concrete and cement is not a huge factor of its economy.
