The idea of livability,according to me revolves around the comfort. It differs from person to person, each individual has it own definition of the livability. But, everyone tries to find the comfort, not only leisure but comfort in terms of job availability, essentials, walking, etc. A housewife in india will feel more livable where the households essentials are easily available, an office employee will feel more livable near his/her workplace. And, in all considerations some of the comforts can be adjusted. Here, in the image, one can see that the population density is much higher. The street is insufficient in terms of area requirement in order to accommodate such crowd. It is difficult to walk sometime even breathe, but citizens are ready to allow that discomfort for a while as they have easy access to all the daily essentials, from home to office to school. Also this is a railway station precinct, the road leads to railway station. So, an individual here, would prioritize material availability over space requirement. The idea of livability of each individual here would differ again from essentials to transport or any other.
