The five most livable cities I know are 1. Vienna (AT) 2. Ljubljana (SI) 3. Madison, Wisconsin (USA) 4. Lyon 5. Paris The five most important characteristics for liveability in my view are : 1. safety (without it, nothing is possible) 2. environment : the environment should be healthy, e.g. with respect to health pollution,... 3. health : good health is necessary to enjoy other qualities 4. infrastructure, including housing and transportation 5. cultural and sport opportunities, to make the most of the time Ljubljana fares quite well on the five aforementioned categories. Safety is very high, the environment is quite clean, and health care is of good quality. Infrastructure for public transport, and cultural opportunities could however be improved.
