Hello everyone This photo was taken in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, the most construction material used is concrete because we can find all the materials to make it and is cheap. But with all the globalization and new eras in architecture, the new buildings want to be different, modern bigger and taller, so they try new forms and shapes that need more materials to make it possible. So, in this picture, we can see that the building has to major materials: Concrete. The steel is used to reach the big spaces between columns. As we know steel has more resistance than concrete. but in Hong Kong, they need to import the steel, so the need of this material leads a flow of material. when the building will be completed its facade will be of glass. this type of facade is getting more and more popular in Hong Kong even though is not the traditional. On the other hand, we can see that the building on the right is under construction. He always uses bamboo scaffolding because it is a strong local material and much easier to use than iron or steel scaffolding. Alaric de Beaudrap
